Yet another autistic computer nerd. I mainly code in Rust™ and right now I’m working on a better TOR. I’m in high school, and to be honest I wouldn’t mind a scolarship. I joined Mastodon after the Reddit exodus, let’s see how it goes (edit: going great!).

@TheMadnessKing @floppy in Europe for most people iMessage is just the SMS app. Even though it pisses me off that Apple got away with it, having WhatsApp to comply with this is just huge. Everyone here uses WhatsApp, and now I won’t be forced to leave Signal anymore.
@recursive_recursion @snaggen It’s just a glorified text editor, if it gets too bad it’s not like your hands are tied.
@thanevim @dantheclamman @kubica Unfortunately, that’s not something you really wanna do. Depending on your domain, it might take years before your emails stop going to the spam box.
@PrivateNoob @FragmentedChicken I think it’s because graphene isn’t done with the porting yet, because other features of the lockscreen like the shortcuts are also gone. They said that there was more work to do, so we’ll see…
@Arbitrary I did this a while ago, you might find it useful. It abandons the more traditional vector concept of sequential insert, so that remove() can be implemented. https://github.com/Alonely0/Lariv
@theangriestbird @FragmentedChicken IMO it’s great that they’re settling for a unique brand look that’s actually practical. Pixel’s camera bump not only makes them usable on flat surfaces, but allows you to clamp-mount camera lenses on the bump itself. Personally, I really like the look & feel of my 6a.
@worfamerryman @FragmentedChicken android is less memory efficient, because Java in lots of scenarios basically allocates the double of the memory that it needs for performance reasons. However, android with 6 or 8 GB is fine for 99% of users. 24 GB is nuts, and it’s probably just for gaming.
@blindsight @Apeeksiht my 6a’s battery life w/ GrapheneOS is great. Not the best, but lasts a day of moderate use just fine. Days of heavy use I’ll have to charge it in the late afternoon, and days of light use it’s almost like I haven’t unplugged it.
