I do think Ticketmaster may help in the long run get some bigger names to Halifax. That doesn’t mean I think it’s worth it but I can see why they would make this decision.

I second this. Sapceinvaderone has some great Unraid videos. I’d also recommend checking our IBRACORP, they have some videos about setting up Unraid just like @myxi@feddit.nl

I wish there was a way to see the posts on Reddit, and have them show along side posts in Lemmy but I also would prefer it to be interacting with real people on here. I think that’s what I like more about the fediverse, the people here actually care.

Do people not use a VPN with Usenet at all? I have one for torrents to get my Linux ISOs but I just assumed I should also use one to get my news from Usenet.

I know a few people who have done this with Mastodon and it works quite well so far. Just like email, it doesn’t really matter where it’s hosted as long as it’s being respectful and not sending out spam.

That being said, AFAIK you can’t transfer a Lemmy account between instances yet, so if you ever change your mind and want to move to another instance, you may have to create a new account.

I lurk with an ad blocker. I do still have an account and am logged in so I can vote and save some posts.
