In hindsight , I really loved the working class commuter college I used to go to. Average age was around 27 and people had lives and families etc. I came here to graduate from an “impressive” university only to learn that for my tech related major it doesn’t really matter for the sorts of jobs I’m looking for .
It just turned to be extremely expensive and a culture shock to constantly be around people who have access to generational wealth.
Mushrooms. You can grow them yourself which is a hobby in itself. It’s such an interesting life form which most of us don’t think about and growing them (as is legal in my area) is a genuine pleasure.
If anyone is interested go to magicbag.com to get the substrate for $30 , spores are $10 more , id recommend mycco.com and it’s basically a matter of injecting the spores without allowing any contaminants in and then waiting. Eventually you will have several ounces.
Of course this all applies for cooking mushrooms like Shiitake or Oyster (Its a nice side hustle to sell these fresh to restaurants) because apparently some people think they taste good
