Capitalism is like an unstoppable, unavoidable virus that has already breached the farthest reaches of the world. It’s almost like every single person on the planet is born into it and cannot escape it for the entire duration of their lives - their deaths approaching ever faster, the less capital they accrue.

See how just stating the obvious sounds like a criticism of Capitalism itself?

I am not criticizing Capitalism, but I am being honest about some dark truths about it. If I had to venture a guess, I would say people who know the true nature of the beast are better prepared to tame it and become wealthy.

Some of those people are also going to sound like they are criticizing Capitalism whenever they broadcast the truth they know.

Why would you answer your front door for police at all?

If they’re saying “we’re breaking down the door” or something, I can imagine answering but, otherwise, I’m not saying a word and I’m hoping they just go away.

I do not pronounce that part of a URL. Who still does that? Why would you need to do that?

Neither of those links contain information relevant to their privacy pro removal product, which only runs on your local device and is definitely not supported by advertisements.

However, I suppose I can see how you may not trust the brand due to their browser and search engine have integrated ad tracking.

I 2nd the DuckDuckGo recommendation.

The way their service works is the MOST private imo. Runs locally and shares minimal data during the takedown request process.

Yes, really! I thought you might find the post I’m linking above interesting. It was at the top of my feed this morning and may be relevant here.

I am curious if maybe you were witnessing people of the Boomer generation (or older GenX) discussing this because they are more likely to be consuming mainstream broadcast news?

lol

It feels like the novelty of an attempted XPOTUS assassination wore off in less than 48 hours. That’s crazy.

Nobody around me is even talking about this anymore - not at work, not on social, not at the grocery store, nowhere.

Idk if that’s due to everyone being super jaded or because it’s Trump. If it’s because it’s him, then I wonder if it’s because nobody gives a shit about him or if it’s just not surprising someone would take a shot at him or just because it’s irrelevant to his candidacy or what else.

Caffeine has an 8 hour half-life. So it definitely wasn’t out of her system, fwiw.

It’s a little spurious to compare dogs to humans in the way it’s described in this infographic.

It makes a lot of sense if dog owners keep their dogs in dog parks, where they only encounter dogs, and not childrens’ parks or really any public space where they may encounter kids.

If your dog’s personal space gets violated by a 2 year old and they bite the kid, then your dog deserves a swift extrajudicial death.

Animals just don’t have the same rights/protections and do not deserve to ever obtain them, imo. It does not help to project human rights onto dogs in the way this infographic does.

If you have your landlord call the plumber and pay for the plumber and you expect that to happen faster than you could do it yourself(because you are working your own job), then it’s hard to argue that is not a value-added service.

If you break the toilet and now consider the property unlivable, due to a broken toilet, that isn’t the landlord’s fault nor the fault of the toilet. It’s your fault.

Accidents happen and your landlord should be cool about it, but it’s still your own accident.

None of this applies to natural causes like environmental damage, of course, but a lot of what happens to rental properties is caused by tenants.
