Sorry, I can’t read all that, so if some of this is already covered, at least you know why.

The answer to this question is “your mileage may vary”, as we sometimes say in my part of the world. There is 0% chance of any kind of consensus on this, because it all comes down to personal considerations and circumstances. If you want an answer that’s applicable to yourself, you’ll need to examine your priorities, circumstances, and considerations.

What makes me feel lonely is a lack of connection with nature and a lack of close relationships.

For people like me, city life is practically the definition of loneliness. Life in a large city was a special kind of hell. Life in a small city was bearable (but awful for other reasons besides loneliness but I won’t dive into that because it’s not what you’re asking about). Life in a rural area with lots of nature, good neighbors, and a small set of very close friends is what I prefer.

Are you finding that the assistance it provides has gotten worse over time? When I first started using it, it was quite helpful the majority of the time. In truth, it’s still pretty decent with autocomplete, just less consistently good than before. However the chat help has truly gone into decline. The amount of unfounded statements it returns is terrible.

And the latest issue is that I’ve started getting responses where it starts to show me an answer, but then hides the response and gives me an error that the response was filtered by Responsible AI.

Glad I’m not directly paying for it.

I would have ice cream for supper, that’s for sure. If I started getting fat, I’d start taking the new weight loss shots to trim down. I’d offer everyone in the country ice cream for supper and then I’d also offer them weight loss shots if they got fat from eating ice cream.

I don’t think I got that free trial. Where I live, pretty much everyone pays taxes regardless of their age.

I’m 99% sure this is fake or that it wasn’t UPS who delivered the package. I can see virtually the whole box in this image and it’s clear that the package is in pretty decent condition and not covered in mystery stains.

Technically yes, but didnyoubgo to work to earn money to pay taxes as a child?

No. But technically speaking, ididnbgo to work to earn money to pay taxes as an adult either. So I’m not sure where this line of questioning is going.

A decade ago or so, Facebook locked me out of my personal account unless/until I provided them with a copy of a state issued ID, of which a driver’s license was one of several options. In other news, it’s been over a decade since I last used Facebook.

Sometime around 2010 or 2011, I created a second and completely separate account with my work email address because I needed a developer account for work related tasks and I did not want to use my personal Facebook account for it. Within 24 hours the new work related account was removed and my personal account was suspended for 30 days for breaking Facebook’s terms (no duplicate accounts).

I stopped using Facebook for awhile, but decided to give it a try again (FOMO) a year or few later. Tried logging in, and they pulled this “send us state issued ID” crap, and I haven’t been back since.

On the other hand, my dad creates a new Facebook account every time he gets a new device. He even uses multiple different accounts at the same time. He’s never been forced to provide them with a copy of his ID nor has he ever been suspended for using/having multiple accounts.

Seems like they’re super arbitrary with the rules and although I’m better off without Facebook, it’s mildly annoying.
