Welcome aboard! Glad to have you! There’s so much content out there in blogs new and old— it’s really a glut of riches!

Hopefully faster than my ongoing attempt to build a forum community from scratch! 🤣

Nice! B/X is the edition closest to my heart! Are you playing in the Dolmenwood setting or elsewhere?

Re Dolmenwood, I think people like the off-kilter faerie tale vibe. The material is also very well laid out and designed.

My home game is tomorrow. It’s a homebrew based on classic b/x. The setting is my own sort of Arthur meets Dune political scheming mashup. Last week, my party avoided an encounter with brigands by escaping across a river. Getting back across was a problem but they managed it by befriending a similarly marooned merchant and a local with access to a small boat. The brigands are now a shiny new faction called the Scarlet Sashes but commonly referred to as Red Legs.

I know that you can follow this community on Mastodon, I think the “user” is @osr@lemm.ee.

I am very interested to see how all this evolves. I also know that it’s going to be messy for awhile as everything is new and being cobbled together as we go.

I haven’t read Cities yet but WWN is a terrific resource. Your homebrew sounds fascinating! I’d love to hear more about it (maybe in its own thread? 😂).

Re: Cities, that makes sense. I’ll have to check it out at some point.

Can’t wait to hear more about your game!

I’ll go first. I stream and make a bunch of videos on various OSR and TTRPG topics over on YouTube. I’ve also got an old school forum and, so soon that I can almost taste it, I should be done with my so far overdue that it’s come back around again zine.
