I defended @beaver@lemmy.ca when a comment of theirs was reported.

I was just given context on this. Looking at their comments in that light, I have decided to ban them from !unpopularopinion@lemmy.world for all their bad faith arguments. Banning people for “bad faith” voting is bullshit. Coming here to defend that horrible action will not be tolerated.

I’ve never cooked tofu myself. The one good meal I had, I had been eating for 6 months before realizing it was tofu! It was great. Sadly, I moved from South Texas to the north, and cannot find a place that can prepare tofu I can stomach.

admins of other instances can see who voted, and what they voted. You can easily build a self-hosted copy so you’re an admin, federate with Lemmy.world, and see who is voting on a post/comment.

Mods cannot see who votes on a post/comment, so this is the only way.

I don’t know why, but tofu makes me ill. I’ve tried it made differently, and in all but one case, my stomach and it didn’t agree.

One Thai restaurant had a great tofu that I was able to eat, but that’s been the only one, and it’s over 1000 miles to get more.

This has been reported. I may not agree with all they say, but I do agree on following the rules. This is why I don’t engage with the vegan community.

This has been reported as homophobic. This means people have a reading comprehension issue. They were obviously stating one party is homophobic.

As you have complained about someone else responding to your comments in this thread, I require that you stop. There’s no way that I’ll allow you to request someone be silenced without you being quiet as well.

As this was reported as mod abuse, I retract the statement. I also have restored the other person’s comment.

sadly, you’re wrong in this instance.

The mission made up of Ms. Patten and nine experts – which was not investigative in nature –…

(emphasis in original news brief).

According to the actual report:

The present report is submitted to the United Nations Secretary-General pursuant to the mandate of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict (SRSG-SVC), outlined by the Security Council in resolutions 1888 (2009), 1960 (2010), 2106 (2013), 2331 (2016), and 2467 (2019). This report contains the findings of the mission of Special Representative, Ms. Pramila Patten to Israel

(emphasis added)

So, she wasn’t a no-name 3rd party, but wasn’t an investigative envoy.
