Same here for reddit. I won’t remove my account just yet, but have unsubbed from a lot of fluff subs I was a part of.

Once RiF goes away I’ll use desktop when needed for searches, but I never actually sit on it at a desktop. I’m hopeful all subs I use will come over, but some may not. Namely homelab and homelabsales.

Considering you can append any Google search with “reddit” and find something there means the entire site is indexed by Google, so there’s that at a minimum…

Don’t like the content? Make your own! :)

I’m liking the fediverse so far. I was mainly a lurker on Reddit for 9 years and only recently started conversing on it a few months ago myself.

Kbin.social did seem pretty “dead” when I joined earlier this week, but once federation was turned back on content has been pretty good. The only thing I need to find out is how to not see posts to magazines I don’t follow in my main feed. I’m getting quite a few German language posts that I can’t read, so filtering those out would cut down on the noise.

In kbin if you updoot it, it will show up in your profile. Not sure if there’s another way in kbin atm as I’m still learning

For a NAS it’s very important because ECC allows write-back to your disks from cache in the event of a power failure. Without this, your data is at risk of being lost or RAID corrupting if you don’t have battery backup and\or your battery backup fails during power outage.

I’m looking at building my own truenas server since my rack is only 22" depth, but I want a 12 bay hotswap array. Very challenging to find an matx board AND chassis that can fit the bill.

I’m currently looking to replace my QNAP. My current unit is the second unit I’ve had of thier that has failed due to motherboard or processor failure and I’m sick of dropping $$$ each time they fail on a replacement unit to keep my data.
Next time my $$$ is going to a self built truenas server, at least this way I have control over replacing bad components and not reliant on a third party. It took 1 month to get my repaired unit back and data restored because the RAID was lost.

I would love this for mobile view myself tbh. I’m used to RiF where I could view 10 posts at once before scrolling, but the kbin progressive app and mobile browser only give me 3-4 due to the content being stacked on top of the title. Moving it to the side like this would alleviate that to some degree I think.

You know what text based RPGs I miss? MUDs. Haven’t played one since the 90s but have fond memories of telnetting into public MUD servers of all flavors to play. My favorite was one where you could make a Saiyan race and Kamehameha your enemies lol
