I have definitely felt that people are worse drivers after COVID than they were before from a totally anecdotal standpoint, but it’s interesting [scary] to see data support it. I wonder if we’re going to have it pegged to the disease itself impacting impulse control or decision-making, or if it is just the effects of watching the fabric of society completely give out and the institutions responsible for social reproduction loudly proclaim that they will do nothing positive ever again for the people they are nominally intended to serve.
It’s the common refrain from fan or hobby communities. “I just want to enjoy my treats without having politics forced into it.” Politics is only views and thoughts outside of the (intensely reactionary) norm. Meanwhile those same posters will happily drag in every tweet and Tumblr post they can find to get mad at, because they’re not doing politics
One of the major chain grocery stores in my area introduced new self checkout stations that are just full on check lanes without a cashier. So you have to scan your item, place it on the conveyer belt, watch it travel down and just dumped in a little pile at the end, then walk down to the end of it and bag your own items. It’s even more of a pain in the ass and I’m sure it’s only because there’s even more surveillance equipment to ensure items are what they’re scanned as. Just fucking pay people. Death to America
I know that we have instances that we play nice with, but all the turbulence of the past week, while funny, makes me think that the entire concept of federation is flawed.
Damn, it’s hella sick that ancient tree and dinosaur goo turned out to be a madness rune hidden underground just waiting for our dumb asses. Real rad that humanity as a species just speedran our way to Moderan in just a couple hundred years.
