Minty95
Old & Deaf, but still not dead š¤£ Far too much sport for my age. Arch Linux user, and now Debian for a HomeAssitant setup. Open source user where possible, computers and gadgets to keep me occupied & thinking. https://www.minty95.com
As others have stated, Dual boot but with two HDs one OS per Hard Disk. Otherwise Windows will write over the Linux grub (the equivalent yi windows MBR) one day (been there, several times š) and then itās a right pain to get it back to normal. For the sync option, there are several options, Dropbox is available as an app on Linux, Also NextCloud works extremely well
Joplin is really good for notes, (I tried uploading a Screenshot for you, but keep getting errors) , how and what to do when installing a Linux for instance. With itās sub categories. But for me at least itās useless for a daily diary use. Iāve been using Diaro on my phone for years now for my personal journal, as itās perfect for noting what do on the day, though I would like to have another option without my data being stored with them, syncing straight to my Dropbox or NextCloud for instance
Iāve gone from the beta that Iāve been using since it came out, now to the beta QPR1 Beta 2
Havenāt even seen the stable version. Probably should have opted out somewhere š¤£
Iām running a Debian Bookworm on a Zotac Tiny PC, plus Docker and Mosquitto with HomeAssitant supervisor installed and a Sonoff usb dongle P. No ZigBee2MQTT. To begin with the Dongle was recognised by HA, natively running ZHA, all worked okay. Then I added ZigBee2MQTT as a add-on in HA, linked it to my Mosquitto account, added MQTT as an add-on as you need it as well. The difference is enormous, as I now have a ZigBee Dashboard, many more options were seen by the ZigBee2MQTT on the devices that I had installed that werenāt seen by the ZHA, I was even able to update certain firmware on my switches.
Crossfit, mixture of weights, cardio, gym etc. For me by far the best sport as it combines everything, thereās a lot of weight movements in it though mostly bars, squats, bench press, snatches, deadlifts etc and you certainly wonāt get bored
It sounds like the best option would be a dual boot, Linux for everything except games and when you want to play just boot into Windows. If you do this i would strongly suggest a two HD set up, one for windows and one for Linux, for two reasons, if you donāt like Linux then you still have the original windows setup, two Windows will at one moment wipe the dual boot grub and youāll āloseā the Linux startup, unless you have one OS per Hard Disk. I donāt game anymore. Like you I also have an old card Gtx760 š¤£š¤£
Iāve used Joplin for years now before was Evernote. I like it because itās open source and the syncing option is built in, exemple either to Dropbox or NextCloud (I use both these options, DB only because I have a free option of 12gB otherwise I would use just NC) The syncing is painless as as I said built-in. Itās not a pretty app, fairly plain, but it works perfectly, on my android and Linix PCs, Arch and Debian. I did try Obsidian once. Itās pretty, but not being open source put me of. Try it again, takes minutes to set up, as again open source and works well
