XMR is digital cash. How does putting cash in someone’s pocket help them in a disaster? It’s a transfer of value that no government can prevent, but how does it actually help those affected?

Reddit was the main port of call for people interested in Monero for many years in the past. By using Reddit, you agree to its terms of use, which the Monero community considers unreasonable. Refrain from using Reddit.

wallet-anonymity Pro-Tip:

  • download Tails OS
  • boot it from USB stick or SD card
  • download Monero GUI using Tails Tor Browser
  • open Monero GUI settings, set a .onion Tor Node
  • create new seed and wallet address
  • write down this seed carefully
  • send your XMR there

example for a good Tor Node (hashvault-pool)

  • hashvaultsvg2rinvxz7kos77hdfm6zrd5yco3tx2yh2linsmusfwyad.onion:18081

Yes, keep your assets in XMR and only exchange when you need another currency, e.g. for a purchase.
