I have the same take as well. Basically fast accessible IDEs with instant feedback and type interference allows you to not have to add types to things where it’s already obvious.

Zuck invested billions in the wrong tech tree and it’s desperate to start relevant.

I’m also not sure how it’s enforceable in a distributed system without some kind of Blockchain, and using that at scale would be prohibitively wasteful and expensive, and ultimately futile since a 3rd party could easily record a backup.

This thing failing had to be completely inevitable. I can’t imagine a universe where it didn’t eventually happen, and now multiple countries need to waste millions of dollars trying to find this thing and risk the lives of multiple rescuers.

I don’t think they’re that uncommon in the US. They’re not ubiquitous like they are in Europe but I feel like the majority of people have them. As mentioned, it’s probably more to do with whether you drink tea than anything else, and not as many people drink tea all the time here. Come to think of it, I’ve never seen anyone boil water for tea on the stove in the last decade. They either use a kettle or they don’t drink tea at all.

5 mini silicone spatulas. It was cheaper to buy 5 than 1 on Amazon and at first I was like I don’t need this many mini spatulas, but they’re super helpful and great at scraping and I don’t have to worry about washing them between jobs since I have several I can swap between. I find them more versatile than having one big spatula.

I guess at least he’s being honest? What he has to say is shitty, but I guess it’s better than being lied to.

Isn’t it always about making more money? They don’t want 3rd party apps because they want more control because that allows them to optimize for more ad money. Now they can make even more money off their app by compromising the user experience, and users don’t have any other option to leave for a better client.
