Oooh, right, I did see a post about it putting up DDOS protection and how that might screw with things. So this might just be temporary then. That at least helps me understand it; I have been trying to understand the fediverse and that behavior really confused me and made me think I was missing something big. Thanks!
Right, that’s what I’m saying - replacement may be easy, but those mods were suggesting a hit to quality. Something tells me Reddit is ready for widespread nuking and has a backup solution to handle that, but it would be lovely to see it all go down. Can’t wait to see what Reddit looks like after all these Subreddits finish going dark.
There was some mods discussing this on Tildes, and the mods seemed to think that replacing them wouldn’t be as easy as people make it out to be. Mods apparently have a wealth of institutional knowledge that is required due to the lackluster default mod suite, and apparently the admins rely on them to come up with their own solutions to issues. Replacing the mods sounds like it will reduce the quality of the content but also will be a big headache for any new mods to jump in. Reddit may not give a shit and they may think it won’t significantly affect investor interest, but I wonder if us regular users will notice a difference. Hell, there’s already been a difference over the past 10 years.
I started rethinking that when I was seeing the influx of bots calling out other users as bots. Then I started noticing weirdly corporate speak in comments about products. I used to add “reddit” to every Google search to find any decent advice, but now I’m realizing even that advice is tainted. Ugh.
My immediate reaction to this game was “oh, New Super Mario Bros, but Sonic.” I live near my siblings, so could be fun to sit on the couch and play with them. But $60…that’s a big price tag for a 2D Sonic game, unless it brings the heat.
Lol, yes exactly. Zero Dawn was drastically improved on easy!. If I die, I better have a short time to pick back up again, or dying better be an expected part of the experience, a la Soulsborne. I nearly quit Callisto Protocol because they have a checkpoint system. Like, even if you click the save button, it’s just saving you at the prior checkpoint which is sometimes 15-20 minutes earlier. Jaw dropped the first time I lost 20 minutes and realized why. Only way I got through it was because it was short and I would regularly check to see if I reached a checkpoint and quit.
I actually tried Ragnarok on hard mode. Lasted 15 minutes and turned it to normal lol. Considered a couple times of switching it to easy, but I eventually gained momentum and was able to get through. So good. Sobbed my eyes out at points, such a heartwarming game, which I realize is insane to say about a God of War game lol.
That makes a ton of sense. I was never actually subscribed to the PlayStation subreddit for that reason. I’d rather see news and discussion topics.
RedReader has posted that they have officially received an exclusion from the API fees due to their extensive accessibility features for those who are blind or visually impaired. So if anyone wants to use reddit without the official app, that app will stay up past June 30th. I have a feeling that Reddit will focus some development on accessibility, and if a lot of people switch over to RedReader to avoid the ads and bullshit in the official app, Reddit will kill it. It’s only a matter of time at this point.
Yeah that’s what I did for the first one. Turned it on the easiest difficulty so they couldn’t power creep me, and just played the main quest for the most part.
Lol, well, selfishly I’m glad your priorities are where they are. You gonna try and take over the defunct Playstation community?
