Hello! This is a profile! Funny how that works!
I have a Doctor Who review blog, if that’s something you’re interested in: dwalternative.blogspot.com/
I realize 2 video’s in a row about the female Doctor Who might not put me in the best light. Just to make sure: I have no problems at all with a female Doctor. I do, however, have a problem with the aimless and characterless story this female Doctor was put in.
This video, while a bit ranty at times, is a critique of the Chibnall era of Doctor Who and the flaws it contains. While I think it is a bit cheap and snarky on the surface, the core and fundamentals of the video stand and are well presented.
Doki Doki might have been beaten to death at this point, but I don’t think I’ve seen anyone beat it as beautifully as Radicalsoda. He just hits the dead horse with so much vigor, it might just’ve moved a few milimeters.
In all seriousness, this one is purely on the comedic side. Meant to entertain, rather than inform. And it definitely accomplishes its goal.
A great Youtuber who has kind of waned in my mind. The great part about his metroid videos is him discovering something new and relaying his experiences in a way that really grab your attention. Sadly, he has mostly focused on games he has nostalgia for recently, which means no new experiences, which means generally more generic videos.
Still, this video is from his glory days and it is great! His whole Metroid range is worth watching, but I just have a lot of love for AM2R as a game :).
I’m mostly past my anime phase and don’t watch all that much anymore, but I can’t deny that this video is a brilliant look at the creation of one of the very best.
Johnny has been around so long that he has sort of become his own genre. He’s the kind of reviewer you watch with a cup of coffee. While all his videos are entertaining and present his opinions well, my favorites are the ones where he tackles a bigger topic in smaller chunks. This video is a prime example of that.
An interesting look at how the growth of a franchise can muddle its past. When Animal Crossing suddenly exploded 3 years ago, it had a lot of new fans that have never seen what the franchise used to be. And, more importantly, what it could be! For many people, New Horizons was the beginning of Animal Crossing. For me, it felt like a massive downgrade from New Leaf. This video largely shows why.
This one is a bit of a rarity! Youtube demonitzed this video for mentioning Nazis and Stalin. Because, according to Youtube, history never happened.
The video was reuploaded with censored names, but I hate that version. It actively shows how Youtube’s regulations hinder valuable and educational content. Luckily, I still had the original in a playlist, which allows me to make this hidden video visible again.
So enjoy this look at Shostakovich and his interesting musical protest to a regime which very much wanted him to follow the rules. It’s an interesting one!
A very specific but interesting look at an outside perspective. I think the video presents itself a bit more scientific than it is, but it is definitely entertaining and unique.
This one is a treat! Animation is rarely tackled this in-depth, yet it is also completely understandable. Worth a watch!
