I’ve come to the conclusion that the user friendly part is just plain wrong. how many times have i struggled on Windows with something but managed fine on linux.
of course there are actual things that are more difficult but that’s only because so much more is possible with linux.
advanced users wouldn’t notice a difference and advanced user appreciate the difference.

@SturgiesYrFase reinstall windows… yeah its amazing that even with linux’s many distros. the solution is usually achievable compared to Windows that has only one version to maintain but still manages to have parts not working. even with direct vendor support for drivers

the gnome design philosophy had been defined for a long time now. it’s not just one or two people making gnome like software and forcing people to use their design.
it’s people coming together to create user aligned software of you want to mod the heck out of it you can but it always provided a stable base

passion is the basis of open source. one day i hope that people that have passion will be more cherished by the world than they are currently.

most people in developing countries can’t afford ms. they might only have it since its preinstalled on their pc oem version. the only place you might see paid for Windows is in corporate settings.
now if the cost to use Windows goes up ofcourse you will see less adoption cause people won’t buy expensive machine unless the need to
