I appreciate that a lot and am blown away by the effort people have put into this thread. I find it to be pretty classist to just tell people to “read a book”. Certainly it makes sense if you feel like someone is interested totally trying to play devils advocate/suck emotional labor out of you but I have definitely seen it in response to more well meaning questions.

I am but a new lil’ guy. I’ve bounced around on beehaw (jumped that libship posthaste), lemmy.ml and lemm.ee for a couple of months now to see what feels right and wanted to check out the hexbear. Good so far, lemmy.ml was a bit too techy for my liking and soooo inundated with users. Lemmy.ml and lemm.ee were also too lib for me. I just gotta subscribe to some other non political communities to even my experience out and I think I’d like to call this instance home 🥺

Really want to thank a lot of the users who have put so much time, energy and thoughtfulness into answering some pretty basic questions about communism. It’s been rad to lurk and learn and just observe how chill and friendly the vibe has been. Also stoked for emojis
