Arguably reddit isn’t even mainstream …

… with just 0.91% of US social media visits this year in March this year, if this isn’t wrong:
https://www.statista.com/statistics/265773/market-share-of-the-most-popular-social-media-websites-in-the-us/

FB 53.09%, Twit 16.25%, IG 13.85%, …, Reddit 0.91% …

[Edited to fix my error.]

Thanks for a reminder that I should look into userscripts for kbin. — For now, I’m using the Stylus extension (in desktop Firefox & Chrome) to apply custom CSS. Nothing fancy yet, just simple overrides to remove some margins and padding to make the “compact” view more compact.

… for years and nobody complained …

FWIW, there was a complaint about Google Books
(long ago resolved). Historical interest only.

… can no longer see anybody’s profiles on the [Threads] site.

Check again now? – I don’t have/want a Threads account either, but I can now see those profiles.

Another but much smaller sub exists:

https://www.reddit.com/r/USSOrville/

It was created in 2019, during a controversy about a mod policy on the main sub at that time.

The main subs’ mods were not friendly to it, and apparently didn’t allow linking from the main sub to it. So, many users of the main sub didn’t know about this other sub, and its membership remained small.

Apparently one of its moderators might be inactive, leaving one remaining.
