Here are a few I like:
- Jellyfin - a media server software that allows you to organize and stream your personal media collection.
- NextCloud - a self-hosted file sync and sharing platform. Not as good as Google Drive (of course), but it can do the job.
- Bitwarden (with a Rust-written alternative named vaultwarden) - a password manager for storing and autofilling login credentials.
- Matrix - an open network for secure, decentralized communication. WhatsApp, but in the Fediverse.
- PiHole - a DNS sinkhole that blocks ads and other unwanted content.
- Mycroft - an open-source voice assistant. You can make your own Google Home with it.
- OctoPrint - web interface that allows you to control 3D printers. Pretty handy if you have one!
- Gitea - a lightweight self-hostable GitHub
- Home Assistant - an open-source home automation platform. Can integrate a lot of other things in your house.
- The X-arr initiative - a collection of tools for managing and organizing media libraries. Pretty good if you deploy your own media server:
- Sonarr - Select TV shows and it will automatically download episodes for you.
- Radarr -> movies
- Lidarr -> music

This would be a really good reason to replay the game as well for previous players. I’ve never got around to do it, as I initially started with P3P, followed by a replay on FES (where it wasn’t available). I think they introduced a female protag on P5 in the DLC? So it might be very likely we’ll see one here.
Interesting! I was hoping that the exposure to magic would make the players interact with various cultures. For example, a certain species/race is very good at a certain type of manipulating the magic, so they would be required to travel there in order to learn more.
I was also considering spirit magic! Using up your own spirit power would make an interesting magic limitation. Thanks for the suggestions! :)
OH! I totally forgot I wanted to play that mod. To be honest, I looked hard into Skyrim lore in order to figure out a way to implement some of its magic into this RPG. However, I’m at a loss regarding all the deities that would interfere with the world, or different planes of existence (from which mana comes).
The going mad part would fit though, as I was hoping to make it dark fantasy :D Taking owl’s response from above, it could be a result of using up your soul haha
