In the wake of Louisiana’s abortion ban, pregnant women have been given risky, unnecessary surgeries, denied swift treatment for miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies, and forced to wait until their life is at risk before getting an abortion, according to a new report first made available to NPR.

It found doctors are using extreme caution to avoid even the appearance of providing an abortion procedure.

I don’t think cruelty is the point of everyone. Sometimes the point is willful ignorance. “Well that’s not what I think an abortion is” or “it’s not about that stuff, it’s about using it as contraceptive” talking about life saving medical intervention.

Yeah but to actually believe the using it as a contraceptive line you’ve got to be sticking your fingers pretty far down your ears shouting la-la-la. Willful ignorance is cruelty.

Those people deliberately ignore the evidence of the suffering their backward attitudes are causing. Denial is not an excuse.

I see your thinly veiled Hanlon’s Razor and counter with Clark’s Law: “Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice.”
