Srsly, I donβt know if I could tell which one was if it were put in front of me, and Iβd be just as terrified if I were in the water with either.
If the mouth is closed then crocs have their teeth poking out, gators donβt. If the mouth is open then consider running away.
Interesting. Iβve heard the round vs pointy snout one (which doesnβt help because I can never remember which way it goes - I need mnemonics, dammit) but not this one.
I guess there are now crocs in FL, so I may have to use this information someday. Like, βoh, its teeth were showing when they mouth was closed, so Iβm being eaten by a croc, not a common alligator!β
