Basically, which linux distro is the best for a non-power user? Someone who wants to be able to get up and running without having to learn how to manage the OS using the cli.

Quick example: When I install a new OS, the first thing I want to do is install Brave. That should be as easy as โ€œclick on this thing, type in brave, select Brave, install.โ€

I feel like Iโ€™m out of the loop. What does โ€œopinionatedโ€ mean in this context?

It means itโ€™s made decisions for you instead of leaving it up to customization.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word โ€œLinuxโ€ in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
