But the park is named for Major Richard Bong, and he was a WWII war hero, with 40 confirmed Jap kills.

Another fun fact about Major Bong, he’s also got a bridge named after him! Its also taller than the other bridge into Wisconsin so it’s commonly referred to as the “High Bridge”.
