For now. Lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries are beginning to enter the market. While they’re physically larger, they hold energy just as well. Ford plans to start integrating them in 2025.

It’s a good sign, and I can’t wait to see them fully integrated. Lithium is far more effective then cobalt, but it’s significantly more unstable, so LFP is a ground breaking breakthrough in electric technology.
