Low education take… Learn how the constiution works and spending power.

Also… If your beloved party wanted to do this… Why did they not do so when they controlled both house and presidency?

Asking for a friend.

“Beloved party”

See, that’s one of the many many problems with you fucking idiots. We dont belove our party. Or idolize politicians. Or hang flags or buy wearable merchandise supporting fascists.

We just hate what you represent.

Constitution vests spending power with Congress of the US. When Biden decided to use executive power to what is essentially exercise in spending, he over stepped constitution. When it was drafted, he knew it and he was briefed on it by white house counsel, they still decided to proceed. Maybe he really wanted to do something but it was limp dick attempt… but the base won’t question that, fine. What about congress not doing anything? They could have do it, they had the people and the authority to do so.

Congress passed a law authorizing the secretary of education to forgive debts. They willingly ceded it.

Do you even know why it was struck down? Only the state of Missouri really challenged it as they were the only ones with proof of ‘standing’. Turns out, MOHELA the federal loan servicer for Missouri didnt even file a suit when they would be the only ones affected. There was no standing for any states and the whole decision is based on and reeks of absolute partisan bullshit.

The senate was a 50/50 split for under 2 years. With 2 “democrats” barely willing to do anything. I fact one of them isn’t even a Democrat anymore. All of this during peak pandemic. Of course this would have had a chance if any one of those limp dick Republicans could for once do something that doesn’t just help the rich and enslave the poor.

It was always a bit of a stretch to have this work. I think Biden understood that there were two ways this could go. One possibility was that if his plan passed muster, a lot of young people saved money and were happy and would credit that directly to Biden. And if it got shot down (particularly if the SCOTUS did it), he knew the blame for that would go to Republicans. He wins either way.

I happen to think decreasing the debt load on students is a good idea, because there’s no way they can establish themselves if they have crushing debt when they start. But let’s make no mistake about it, Biden is using the Federal Treasury to buy votes. It’s been done before, though. I’m old enough to remember that George W Bush did a lot of vote buying, in the form of “tax rebate” checks directly to taxpayers. I think I bought a dryer with one of mine. I never did vote for him, though. I guess the vote buying doesn’t always work.

I like how you assume that I’m a proponent of another right-wing political party solely because I pointed out that a different one is a violent, fascist, criminal, terrorist organization.

Yes, because I am a leftist and there are no leftist political parties in the US. Anyone that thinks the DNC is remotely “leftist” has been swayed so far to the right that they can’t imagine there’s an entire world of politics on the other side of the DNCs milquetoast center-right authortiarian-lite platform.

To do something equitably when reality is not equitable is disengineous and immoral
