I know, Google bad, genocidal scumbags, but I guess this counts as a small victory for our people.
Unicode 16.0 is on the way, and the scripts will soon be out on every device. Fuck Kannada imposition.
Well, tell us something in Inkniw so we can translate it.
Unfortunately, here’s the situation - Google Translate for Tulu uses Kannada script, which I can’t read, and which I’ll not be learning, because…reasons. I’d rather learn the modernized script based on the original Tulu-Tigalari script.
Here’s a popular Tulu proverb idiom, which is really funny imo (I had to transliterate this from English to Kannada, so there may be some mistakes):
ಪೀ ಬನ್ನಗ ಬಿತ್ತ್ ನಾಡುನ
(pī bann-naga bithth nadúnā)
Translation
When translated literally, it means “Searching for the seeds, when you’re pooping”. What it means is that you shouldn’t wait till you’re screwed.
That’s an awesome proverb I will be incorporating it in professional settings.
