The developers working on the site are making continued improvements. And although some features are a WIP, I find the ability to interact and view shared 360 images to be a cut above the rest.

Yes, similar to Instagram, your uploads are public. It doesn’t seem that they currently implement any private shares. If you’re looking to do that the Insta 360 community network allows for private share.
