During the 2020 election, the Latino twitter subreddit didnt want to hear about Biden possibly being worse on immigration despite the trend that every administration since Reagan was more hard-line than the previous regardless of party. It always seemed to me that Latinos imagine their preferred party being nice to “the good ones” while handling the bad behind the scenes or not even giving that a thought at all. Its no surprise that a lot of the Latino vote is actually hostile now to immigration when given time, theyre assimilation strips them of any sort of solidarity or empathy to a situation they or their parents may have had. The border will be militarized. Thats the bipartisan project. And it isn’t just to keep them out but to keep you in.
