Pick a corner. Any corner, and we’ll help you protest!

Project cornerstones is a collaboration with the Pima County Democratic Party and hopefully other organizations that seeks to normalize “micro-protests” - that is any protest with fewer than a dozen or so folks.

This community consists of two dominant “roles”. We need Crafters and we need Cornerstones.

Crafters, you provide ready-to-use signs and “protest packs” that include water and sunscreen. Feel free to throw in your own flair. Post some form of contact information in our pinned “Maker Directory” thread if you are comfortable.

Cornerstones, you are anyone who wants to protest but don’t know where to start. All you need to know is the corner you’d like to protest at. You can contact a maker in the “Maker Directory” thread. Or you can post a request for materials along with the date, time, and location of your “corner” in our community.

And a third, honorary role:

Patron, you are someone who can’t really create and lacks the time or ability to be a cornerstone. You primarily provide crafters with material assistance with things like crafting tools, posterboard, sunscreen sample/travel packs, and bottled water. (Please, no monetary assistance due to the potential for scams and abuse on the fediverse). You also may host “protest packs” and volunteer as a distributor.

All other conversations should pertain to finding good, high visibility or high impact corners, coordinating with others, and anything else under the subject of micro-protesting.
