A day after pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati’s stint at the Olympics Games 2024 was marred by an unexpected disqualification after his crotch knocked the height bar— the French athlete has been approached by an adult entertainment firm.

A letter was obtained by TMZ Sports from porn website CamSoda which claimed to offer a whopping $250,000 dollar to Ammirati for displaying his “manhood” on camera.

Compared to other pole vaulters all over the world. Yes, he won’t be swimming in money, but he is still #34 world ranked. There’s no definite number of all male pole vaulters in the world but even with a very rough 50k estimate he is not mediocre.

You are obviously objectively correct - I have just never encountered someone using that frame of reference when discussing sports. For example, there are literally millions of soccer players over the world, and by default the players throughout the English third division are some of the top 1%. These people can do things with a ball you and I can only dream of. Still, when discussing soccer, most people would call them mediocre.
