From my experience:

  1. Major - Delta, United, American Airlines
  2. Value - Southwest, JetBlue
  3. Budget - Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant

I’m not sure where Alaska and Hawaiian airlines fit in since it’s been a while since I’ve flown with them.
