Does anyone know of a self hosted food journal? I’m looking for an application that allows me to record all of the things I eat as well as how I feel so patterns of foods can be found when various symptoms are triggered. Bonus points for machine learning analysing the data and telling me what foods cause which problems!

I have to admit I was surprised I couldn’t find anything. It seems like the technology should exist, like it should be a relatively common thing people want, and it doesn’t sound overly complicated.

I found a reddit post talking about it and most people used a spread sheet or a notebook!

I was about to reply with ‘i guess you will end up using spreadsheets’, until this comment loaded.

I’m actually working on software to do this, with metrics, but it’s far from ready for primetime. So this is not helping (only myself to see that there is interest 😏).

And what tech stack are you building it on? Gitlab or somewhere in the open? I am looking for some projects so I may be able to contribute but Python is the only language I am versed in currently.
