Do what makes you feel comfortable. I’ve learned that there is no real point in arguing with people on the internet. No one’s perspectives are going to change and it eventually devolves into personal attacks and insults. I’m very selective of where and to who I share my views and ideologies with
agreed and likewise here; however i engage sometimes because i think it’ll help me challenge my views.
what a strange interaction. I don’t think anything you said was really off base. Maybe I’m too stupid to follow but it looks like EABOD25 thinks they pulled a “gotcha” on you but your line of thinking seems pretty consistent
Well, you know what you get for assuming. If you want to ask if someone is playing games, I’d recommend asking the person you suspect first then gauge their response
Don’t get me wrong. I disagree with you on some points. The only thing I ask is that you are as respectful as I was.
Ukraine https://www.britannica.com/place/Ukraine/Independent-Ukraine
Ukraine has had noticeable issues with the USSR since 1917. When they finally got their independence in 1991, they joined the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). All states in the CIS are managed by Russia. Ukraine left the CIS for its own sovereignty or to find allies outside of Russian controlled states. Daddy Russia didn’t like that.
Flash forward to 2008, where Russia invaded Georgia (which was also in the CIS and left)
2022; Russian invades the Ukraine citing (very loose quote). “Ukraine belongs to Russia, and it’s the USA and NATO’s fault we’re invading,”
https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/new-atlanticist/markup/putin-speech-ukraine-war/
Now consider this. There were 14 states in the USSR, and there are 11 of those former states currently in the CIS. Putin has invaded one of them to get them back, so how is that any different from Ukraine? It’s weird, right?
Now, as for giving Ukraine weapons, it’s what allies do. China is giving Russia weapons, Russia is giving Belarus weapons, etc…
Israel https://www.britannica.com/event/Arab-Israeli-wars
This issue has been deeply seeded since post WWII where jews wanted a sovereign nation and received the world’s sympathy, and NATO proclaimed the Israel belonged to the jews and supported an exodus of Arabs to the west bank. Of course, that would piss people off. They got bullied out of their homes. However, the roots from that seed go all the way back to The Crusades. Jerusalem is a holy land for three different religions and has been in the hands of all 3 at one point or another with Muslims, ultimately holding it for the longest time. Of course, that would cause a burning anger for the other groups that lost out. And the years following, zionists worked to push all Muslims as far into the Mediterranean as possible and oppressing them. Gaza had their own politicians, and so did Israel, but they could only ever come to the solution of “don’t step on my dick, I won’t step on yours.” Well, Israel stepped on dicks. They began kicking Muslim people out of their homes in Israel and Gaza and was on a serious campaign to get that land back. So much so that they sent military into Gaza to remove those people and squash any protests.
Then October 7th happened (imo you can thank Bin Laden for that one because he proved that high scale terrorism works). But one of the things that people don’t mention about terrorists is they are not afraid to use men, women, or children as combat tools or meat shield because it gives the impression of “We’ll do this to anyone. Even you”. So I truly believe there were Hamas agents in the areas that Israel bombed, but the cost to eliminate the few was too great
So what’s Israel’s response? Scorched earth in Gaza and Lebanon. They even resorted to terrorism themselves by tampering with pagers and radios (allegedly, I have two personal theories about this, but so far, most signs point towards Israel).
So now all of Israel’s allies are also tied into this fucked up game because there’s treaties and contracts and (no offense to any Biden supporters) a senile old man that is believed to be playing the strings for NATO.
Uyghur
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Uyghur
I don’t have much to say about this topic because there aren’t many actual resources for it to be genocide. However, internment camps have been built to house Uyghur people specifically they were or are suspected of coinciding with terrorists in China. There’s no official death tolls, nor is there official counts of how many are housed there, but at the very least, it is an oppression of a people. Granted, it’s no different than the nazi internment camps or the Japanese internment camps in the US. But, speaking for the US specifically, mistakes were made because fear got the best of us. It’s 2024 now, and if you a whole group should be held responsible for the actions of the few, then that’s just fearmongering
i only place i see us disagreeing is whether or not all ukrainians wants to switch hegemonies (those who don’t want to were disenfranchised by popular manufactured consent and it doesn’t matter at this stage anymore); everything else you’ve described appears to be in alignment with what i described earlier.
