Given his history being blackballed from academia for his views on Palestine, he’s been sensitive to cancel culture in general and has reacted poorly to some issues that people get cancelled for now
It’s not an excuse, but given how he’s sacrificed his entire life to the Palestinian cause at the expense of having a wider exposure to today’s issues I think there’s still a place for him on the left

I mean, he’s an old boomer, of course he has reactionary views on some cultural issues. That’s just par for the course.
But, he’s valuable and important because of Palestine, full stop.
