Lemmy seems less active than during the Reddit protests?

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but when the reddit protests were happening, I used Lemmy for a bit then decided to detox from “social media” for a while till now. Am I misinterpreting the activity here?

Really interesting that MAU number has been declining for past 3 months, but number of posts and comments has been balooning.

(The USA election surely - also talked about by people outside of the USA, e.g. I saw quite a few posts on lemmy.ml about it…)
