Good lord, they’ll do anything to push their app eh?

This shit would drive me nuts. My friends and I would send each other links we found on Reddit through messenger or text and when I would get one, it would take me to a blurred view of the page and tell me to view it on their app. I would back right out, go on RedditIsFun, and search the title of the post there. To stop this from happening to people I sent to, I’d just take a screenshot of the meme and send it in a group chat and say I saw it on r/whatever. If you force me to use your broken shit, I’ll send that meme in a fax out of spite if I have to.

Yep, I quickly got into the habit of just directly sharing content I found, either by sharing the image itself or screenshotting the page.

The only part that would give me trouble was Reddit’s internally hosted videos, which simply could not be easily shared without linking to the comment thread that hosted them. Usually attempting to follow those links in my browser (such as when on my computer) would download a file I couldn’t open.

Ironically, Sync would handle those links perfectly, so I could only reliably share to people using the same third party app I was.

RIF app allowed me to download and video, or pics I wanted and made so easy to share content from Reddit. Going miss that app.

Just got to wait for a Reddit Vanced app then…

ReVanced has a few patches for it, most importantly general ad removal. I imagine there’ll be more soon, hopefully ones which makes the UX better.

FYI ReVanced already supports Reddit but I don’t think they deserve any web traffic no matter how
