Never understood why Christians think the answer to a child having an irreversible degenerative nerve disease has anything to do with free will.

It’s so that you can be admonished for not following their morals. [Bad thing that happened to you] is the divine consequence of not [moral commandment that their religious institution defends, and is usually not related to the bad thing], therefore [submit to the authority of their religious institution].
