I wrote this one and it works great in firefox for android with tampermonkey installed https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/468460-kbin-collapsible-comments

it appears you are correct and that is some utter bullshit.

I know someone recently submitted a PR for it but don’t have the link readily available at the moment. You probably won’t have to wait long for kbin to upgrade and add it.
