Baldur’s Gate 3 is looking to be one of the best games of 2023 in a year already full of some of the best games of the generation. And their stance on microtransactions is great.
“No, there are no in-game purchases in our game. We believe in providing a complete and immersive gaming experience without the need for additional purchases. Enjoy the game to its fullest without any additional costs or microtransactions.”
For the lazy. Although with noting they have given extra camping supplies for people who preordered.
I have more camping supplies than I know what to do with. I’m on tactician, but I’m trying to play like I would in tabletop and stretch out long rests if I can. It forces me to actually manage resources I’m spending in a fight (and after). In tabletop the DM would roll for an encounter or something if you just decided to camp in a hag’s lair, for example. I wish they’d do something with it in BG3, but it’d be tough to do contextually.
