They knew what would happen. The US is wealthy with a huge military force. They could have locked down and mobilised their army to protect people until it was over.
But the oligarchs didn’t want to slow their profits and give up even an inch of their wealth and power, so COVID was allowed to run rampant. They sacrified their own people to the virus. These people did not willingly sacrifice themselves, they were killed through purposeful negelect.
They also encouraged other countries to do the same. My own country hardly had any deaths before US officials visited and pressured them to open again.
It’s no longer tracked properly so who knows the full extent of the death.
This could be one of the largest mass killings in history.
The worst part is when the news tries to spin how traumatic it was for kids to endure our pathectic excuse for a ‘lockdown’, instead of how traumatic it was to watch our countries murder millions for nothing and hear our friends and families parrot eugenics talking points to try and justify it.

Genuinely trying to understand why hexbear is getting defederated from other instances and see if my vague understanding of it matched reality. And willful misunderstanding of what I’m saying perfectly represents what I’ve experienced here. Look at how often I’ve been misquoted here. Entirely different words put in my mouth. One person even agreed that conservatives cause more harm than liberals and continued to accuse me of saying I’m a liberal. I think the fundamental misunderstanding here is that I believe liberalism is reducing harm by being the ONLY OPTION besides conservatism. And I don’t believe another, better option is possible because of how messed up business interests are woven into politics. That liberalism should be the right wing and actual left platforms should be the left. The amount of hate I got for having those views and disingenuous misquoting just blows my mind though. This is an echo chamber and I’m out. I hope there’s no hard feelings and I’m sorry when I came across as rude, I should’ve been more patient.

It’s my genuine opinion that a lot of this rhetoric is originating from propaganda and astroturfing. I wish you all good luck because it seems like this community is heading towards some dark places and it seems like basic empathy is being exploited to radicalize people into something that is anything but empathetic
Oh yeah, fuck that. They were totally in bad faith, but if after the first comment they backed off, it would’ve been different. The community here would have moved on and been cool if they did some self crit.
But they just had to hold onto the sense of superiority. And all because we checks notes had an issue with the US government causing the deaths of millions.
