What are some cool roads near Adelaide to ride on that have interesting history / weird design or just underrated in general maybe in the hills.

I’m not a cyclist, so please forgive me if these suggestions are too mainstream or obvious. The Santos Tour Down Under website has an atlas of popular and famous routes and climbs, many of which are used in the professional World Tour stage race that is held here annually.
