sub might turn into orca only sub

For those of you out of the loop, Reddit admins took it upon themselves to remove a meme about Orca’s attacking yachts. source

Not even that…literally a screenshot of an article by The Atlantic saying the orcas are bad for attacking boats and then underneath it a scene from The Office with the caption altered to say “You know what? Now I’m going to root for the orcas even harder.” source

my solution: if you gotta cave to the craves, READ on reddit but only POST on federated. this will kill them long-term, and for me at least, its an easy “fast” to hold to. If we only post to federated, the quality here will keep going up. Reading doesn’t help reddit stay alive (at least not compared to writing, giving them “content”).

This seems like the right approach.

Also, as a small-time content creator, for the time-being I plan on posting original content here (such as graphic novel reviews & high-quality samples), then link the Lemmy posts over to Reddit. Over time, hopefully that will draw some percentage of Reddit users over here to view the content.
