Same here. Also, googled a bit and Lemmy doesn’t have formal spoilers yet. Some clients add them, but generally it just converts to simple markdown

Yup, that syntax works for me in the native UI. I’m not sure if it’s designed for spoilers, but I will be using it for them from now on.
