I went to Marengo Cave with my wife today and snagged some pictures during the tour. It was my first time in a cave and it was an amazing experience. I’ll have to make it to Mammoth Cave when I have a chance and experience another cave.

The drapes tended to be some of my favorite formations too. I think because they look since they look so flowing that my brain, despite knowing better, would expect them to be soft and malleable almost like parts of some giant science fiction horror movie beast. My favorite thing in the cave was probably the large pools that were so still that they created a perfect mirror that it made it look like a giant pit. It was so mind trippy when falling droplets would create small ripples that made it look almost like some mirror universe. Sadly the lighting was so low and the ripples so delicate that my camera just couldn’t capture it well enough to do it anywhere near justice.
