I know we already got another thread about this topic, but I wanted to highlight the stance of home assistant for this topic.

I really don’t see how you can argue with this post. Well, I can, but I really don’t want to think about it.

Basic features like turning a bulb on with a set brightness or color (if you’re lucky, you can turn on with a set brightness).

Mine always turn on to the last color and brightness that they were previously. Does it work differently for you?

Sure, but if I tell a bulb to turn on at a different color and brightness, it should be able to do that. Nanoleaf cannot.

That must be an issue with your Home Assistant automation, it’s not a limitation of Nanoleaf. It works for me on the Nanoleaf app and Google Home. However I still need to get the SkyConnect in order to test it in Home Assistant.
