Tonight’s Ask PHLemmy: What turned out to be A LOT more expensive than you anticipated?
Vintage shirts. I’m talking band/concert tees from 1992 or whatever that’s been worn once, only has one size (usually XL+), and looks beaten up due to age. Goes for like $800-$1000 maybe more. And they buy it to wear it as part of the streetwear aesthetic.
Edit: Here’s an example. A Filipino runs that shop.

Though specifically siguro is baking your own bread. Fell down the sourdough rabit hole during the pandemic, and really, freshly baked bread tastes so much better than store bought ones pero napaka daming oras ang kelangan gugulin para magawa sya. And I believe that time is the most expensive currency.
