A Japanese court has said that a law requiring surgery to switch genders on a family registry is unconstitutional in a ruling on a case involving a transgender man in central Japan, according to his lawyers.

japan is sort of weird when it comes to to their relationship with gender and sexuality. in japan, it’s more culturally accepted to swap genders than to be homosexual.
