He was right. And so when another country comes to us and say “look. We’ve gotta exterminate these people. You understand, right?” A tear runs down my cheek. I get real close, and my voice gets raspy. And I stare them right in their eyes like Dad used to do and I nod with assurance. “We’re the United States of America for God’s sake.”
