He scored 16 goals and had 16 assists in the ligue 1 PSG won the league by 1 point and messi was an important factor for them winning the league with several match winning goals

He did though, which is fine. If Argentina bomb out in the group stage, and Messi had 25 goals and 25 assists for PSG, he wouldn’t have won the Balon D’or. It’s not a scientific award, there’s a massive world cup and sentimental weighting to it, that it doesn’t matter how he performed for PSG.

Yeah but it’s PSG in Ligue 1, realistically they should be winning it by a landslide every year
