theyโre not all necessarily unhealthy either; researching the long-term effects of food on humans is very error-prone, and there are a lot of artificial sweeteners (and natural low-calorie sweeteners, although theyโre less common in โdietโ drinks)
I was actually surprised to learn that aspartame (is that the one in the news atm) has only just been linked to cancer. Iโve been brought up to avoid that shit and thought it was well known to be not be safe for human consumption, regardless of the exact health effects.
Still, Iโm partial to a few aspartames when Iโm taking a break from the heavy metals and plastics in my tap water.
And the risks of any one macro food group (does it counts as a macro when itโs the key ingredient in so many recipes?) should probably be weighed by other risk factors like necking six tins of full fat coke every day. Sugar is a hard drug to kick. Ideally weโd all eat fresh but itโs tough in this world.
