Rocky Horror has one of the weakest 3rd acts I’ve ever seen.

Ive never seen the live show so it might just be pains trying to fit a 2 act musical into a traditional 3 act movie

The whole move goes downhill after they serve meatloaf for dinner.

To be fair watching it in a theater with the full cast and audience participation makes it.

Also being inebriated probably helped…

I could also be biased since I saw my future wife’s tits for the first time with her playing Columbia and doing the “pop the tits out of the corset” maneuver during the last act.

Did you try to take it seriously? Rocky Horror being incredibly bad is kind of the point of its popularity.

I like the last 1/3 of the soundtrack the best. It lets especially Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon have a last highlight.

The plot is indeed moot at that point though.

I have watched it a bunch. But saw it first a live cast and with people who were really into it. So any re-watch brings me back to that time. Being high helps lol

As a movie on its own, it’s not great. It’s really about the experience of a live showing.

Rocky Horror is odd because if it wasn’t for it’s historical importance in queer culture it’d have been forgotten as transphobic B movie schlock. It’s bad, but the shadow cast and the calls elevate it to a fun bad.

It feels like they were trying to finish the third act’s writing while act two was finished being acted live on stage.
